Grocery Stores Can Increase Their Share of the Spend with Housewares

CHICAGO (March 3, 2019)—It’s no secret that online sales have disrupted traditional retail models. But bricks and mortar grocery stores can increase their share of the spend with housewares and by adjusting store experiences to meet changing consumer needs, according to a new report from the retail industry trade association Global Market Development Center (GMDC) that was previewed today at the 2019 International Home + Housewares Show.

CHICAGO (March 3, 2019)—Eight International Home + Housewares Show exhibitors were honored with Global Innovation Awards (gia) for Booth Excellence today with two companies named Global Honoree. Two finalists were selected in each Show expo, one each for large and small booths. The winners were announced during special presentations at the 2019 International Home + Housewares Show here at McCormick Place. The Show, which features more than 2,200 exhibitors and 60,000 attendees, runs through Tuesday.

International Home + Housewares Show to Become The Inspired Home Show® in 2020

ROSEMONT, IL (Feb. 21, 2019)—The International Housewares Association (IHA) today announced it is changing the name of the International Home + Housewares Show to The Inspired Home Show®, IHA’s Global Home + Housewares Market in 2020. The change is part of the Association’s expansion of The Inspired Home platform, which was created to align with consumer trends shifting from functional home design to aspirational lifestyle development.
