As state restrictions prohibiting large gatherings remain in effect for the foreseeable future, and government travel restrictions continue to significantly impede domestic and international travel, the International Housewares Association’s Board of Directors have made the difficult but necessary decision that The Inspired Home Show 2021, scheduled to take place Aug. 7-10, 2021 at McCormick Place in Chicago, cannot proceed as planned.
IHA spoke with Lily Tsubouchi, sales manager of Mira Design Corp., to learn about the four brands—Pearl Life, Takanaka, SHOLAYERED and GLOPLAY—they will introduce at The Inspired Home Show 2021.
The Housewares industry has flirted with Smart in the home for a few years with varying degrees of success. Given the dramatic changes in consumer needs and retailing during the pandemic, Smart technology is ripe for Housewares; but to be successful it needs the integration of the Food, Technology and Housewares industries working together to solve these new consumer needs. In this discussion we will view the challenge of Smart through three distinct lenses – eating behaviors, technology and housewares – to help leverage Smart to solve these new consumer needs.
