Description & Comments

Pura is a wall-mounted air purifier designed to improve indoor air quality while reducing environmental waste. Rather than creating a new product category, it rethinks a familiar one by focusing on sustainability, size, and everyday usability. Pura functions like a traditional air purifier, removing dust, smoke, and allergens from the air. Its main innovation is a biodegradable mycelium filter grown from mushroom fibers. Most air purifiers use synthetic filters that can’t be recycled and must be replaced every few months. Pura’s filter offers a more environmentally responsible alternative while still capturing harmful particles effectively. Research showed that many users care about air quality but don’t want large devices taking up floor or desk space. In response, Pura is designed to mount on a wall and remain compact, making it ideal for apartments and small rooms. High-efficiency airfoil fans provide strong airflow despite the product’s small size. Pura is designed for mass production using durable, recyclable ABS plastic and includes built-in safety features that prevent the fan from operating when the unit is opened. The result is a simple, sustainable air purifier that fits naturally into modern living spaces.

LevelUp is a wall-mounted home exercise system designed to help older adults follow physiotherapy routines with confidence and consistency. Many users struggle to remember movements or perform exercises correctly without in-person guidance, which often leads to reduced motivation or improper technique. LevelUp transforms a wall into a simple training surface using short-throw projection and motion tracking. When the front flap is opened, the device activates and displays large, easy-to-follow visual cues directly on the wall. A hidden camera tracks basic movement and provides gentle corrections, eliminating the need for apps, screens, or complicated setup. Research with older adults and physiotherapists emphasized the importance of clear guidance, minimal cognitive load, and safe upright movement. These insights shaped LevelUp’s one-step activation, high-contrast visuals, and standing or seated exercise options. Designed for durability and repair, LevelUp uses modular electronics and recyclable materials to support long-term use. By creating a dedicated, visible exercise space, LevelUp encourages consistent practice and supports healthy aging at home.

Cove is a smart, temperature-controlled lunchbox designed to give users greater flexibility and convenience when packing meals. Many people struggle to keep food at the right temperature throughout the day, limiting what they can bring from home. Cove solves this by allowing users to store, heat, or cool meals in one portable container. Using a thermoelectric Peltier module, Cove can switch between heating and cooling modes by reversing electrical current. A modular container system makes packing, swapping, and cleaning food simple and efficient. Research included disassembling competitor products, building prototypes, and testing food storage performance throughout the day. User studies revealed growing interest in meal prepping, personal aesthetics, and time-saving routines. In response, Cove combines customizable design with practical function, allowing users to express their style while staying organized. Designed for long-term daily use, Cove uses durable materials and efficient manufacturing methods. By encouraging packed meals, it reduces reliance on single-use packaging and supports healthier, more sustainable habits.

Description & Comments

Kokoro is a sculptural voice-recording device designed to turn everyday documentation into a meaningful practice of memory and legacy. While digital recordings are easily made and quickly forgotten, Kokoro encourages intentional voice preservation through a lasting physical medium. Using modernized wax-recording technology, the device carves brief voice messages into a wax cylinder through a simple mechanical gesture. Pulling a wooden handle activates a five-second recording, encouraging reflection rather than performance. Each cylinder becomes a permanent artifact meant for future listening and inheritance. Research showed that most voice recordings lack emotional permanence. Through prototyping and user testing, Kokoro was shaped to feel warm, accessible, and ritualistic, using natural materials such as wood, wax, and aluminum. Designed for long-term use, Kokoro avoids digital dependency and planned obsolescence. By blending historical technology with contemporary design, it offers a thoughtful alternative to disposable digital culture and creates lasting connections between generations.

Preserv is a sustainable set of baby suction dishes designed to last beyond the baby stage. While many baby products are cheaply made and quickly discarded, Preserv challenges this pattern by creating dishware that grows with a family instead of becoming waste. Preserv works as a traditional suction bowl and plate for early feeding, using simple, proven suction technology. Its key difference is its multi-use design. The soft, fluted exterior gives the bowl a timeless, elegant appearance, making it suitable for continued use as the child grows. When flipped, the silicone bowl becomes a lid for a matching glass container, allowing it to transition into food storage, serveware, or everyday kitchen use. Research with parents showed strong concerns about sustainability and the short lifespan of baby products. In response, Preserv combines multiple functions into one durable product. Made from food-grade silicone and glass, Preserv is safe, easy to clean, and designed for long-term use. By extending product life, Preserv promotes reuse and a more thoughtful approach to family products.
