Call for Topics

free executive level education

A key component of the Show is providing world-class education on the latest industry issues and topics to help attendees grow their business. We are seeking proposals for speakers for The Inspired Home Show 2023, to be held at McCormick Place in Chicago March 4-7, 2023, in the following areas: Innovation Theater, and Inventors Revue. If you are interested in submitting a proposal, please read below for more details on each of these educational areas.

Innovation Theater

Offering Presentations that Address Topics in new product development and launch.

The Innovation Theater is in room E350 of the Lakeside Center, near the base of the bridge entry to the Lakeside Lobby. A marked path and major signage direct guests to this location. The Theater features comfortable seating for 340 with fine viewing, lighting and sound. There is no stage: the floor is flat at the screen/front of the room and seating rows are banked. Restrooms and water coolers are near the Theater entrance.

  • trends in consumer behavior and purchasing
  • design of products, packaging and retail environments
  • social media management
  • branding
  • intellectual property protection
  • targeting international and emerging markets
  • trends in Internet of Things/Connected/Smart Home products

RFP Submission

Proposals should offer a program with one topic with one or two presenters OR a panel discussion that you would moderate with 3-4 panelists. You may submit up to two proposals.

Program Structure

  • Theater presentations must be educational in nature and be relevant to trade professionals in the housewares industry. The presentation should not be sales oriented. Case histories are acceptable if the story has broader applicability and is not merely self-promotion.
  • One or two presenters can share a podium or walk around during the presentation. A table and chairs are provided for panel discussions.
  • Programs occur every hour over four days (Saturday, March 4 through Tuesday, March 7): 50-minute timeslots, with 10 minutes between programs for set up.
  • There are no rehearsals and no speaker ready room.
  • IHA does not offer an honorarium or reimburse for travel or hotel expenses.

Inventors Revue

Every year IHA hosts the Inventors Revue offering presentations that address topics of interest to makers and inventors.

  • presenting to retailers
  • thinking outside the box

Program Structure

  • Revue presentations must be educational in nature and be relevant to inventors and small entrepreneurs. The presentation should not be sales oriented. Case histories are acceptable if the story has broader applicability and is not merely self-promotion.
  • Stage located on the Show floor.
  • Open forum seating for the audience.
  • Speakers and panels are scheduled during the entire show (Saturday, March 4 through Tuesday, March 7) from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm and allow time for Q & A session at the end.
  • There are no rehearsals and no speaker ready rooms.
  • IHA does not offer an honorarium or reimburse for travel or hotel expenses.
